Featured in the museum is America's Cup Hall of Fame. Also, over 50 original sailing and power yachts. The musem offers photographs of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co. role in yacht making. The history of the Herreshoff family and America's Cup races are located onsite. Gifts can be purchased in the museum shop.
Located at Brown University, the museum is situated at the base of the historic Mount Hope. Featured inside are many exotic objects from around the world, including native peoples of the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Many interesting exhibits are provided, this includes lectures, films and gallery talks.
Committed to preserving Bristol's heritage, the Bristol Historical & Preservation Society displays a collection of artifacts, some of which are over 300 years old. The museum is located in the former Bristol County Jail (built in 1828) and also features a library. Opening hours are 1pm to 5pm on Wednesday and Friday, and 2pm to 5pm on the first Sunday of every month.
