Burlingame State Park was originally a wildlife preserve, but in 1934 it was dedicated as state reservation. The park spans 2098 acres and offers a full range of services and recreational opportunities including camping, picnicking, and more.

This is a first come, first serve campground, and no reservations are accepted. A Barrier Beach Permit is required to gain access to any Rhode Island State Barrier Beach or access road. The permits can be obtained from the park office, and are valid from July 1st until June 30th of the following year.

There are 755 camp sites at this park, as well as five cabins and one yurt for rent. Recreation programs and outdoor concerts are offered throughout the summer months.
