Enjoy this large 450 acres wildlife refuge. Views of the ocean and surrounding areas can be seen from atop Hanging Rock. Schools and community groups can take advantage of the guided walk provided by the sanctuary. A museum is also featured and can be enjoyed by visitors to the sanctuary.
Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is a stopover and wintering area for many migratory birds, and home to various permanent wildlife species. Established in 1970, this 250-acre (101-ha) refuge features diverse habitats, including salt and freshwater marshes, sand dunes, rocky shoreline, grasslands and coastal shrub areas. Trails wind throughout the park and offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. A visitor center is located on-site.
