Hog Island Shoal Light is located in the bay, and is seen only by boat. The present lighthouse was built in 1901 and is made of cast iron. It flashes every six seconds and blasts a fog signal every 30 seconds.

This lighthouse is accessible by ferry from Bristol, and is within walking distance from the ferry landing. The Prudence Island lighthouse tower is not open to the public.
